IPSF – Infectious Disease

The APhA-ASP IPSF Infectious Disease Chairs are tasked with educating students about the prevalence of infectious pathogens that cause disease in both the United States and globally. As Chairs, their responsibilities include raising awareness about antimicrobial resistance and stewardship through community outreach events and by inviting guest speakers. Chairs frequently utilize “National Days” such as World Malaria Day (April 25), World TB Day (March 24), and National HIV/AIDS Day (September 18) as opportunities to educate the student body. Additionally, Chairs interact with second-year (2PD) student pharmacists by organizing review sessions and Kahoots to assist them in preparing for Patient Care 2.
